Plaza Mundo Usulután Shopping Center. El Salvador.

On September 4, 2024, the official opening of Plaza Mundo Usulután was celebrated, a shopping center that marks a milestone in the economic and social development of the eastern region of El Salvador.

Plaza Mundo Usulután offers a varied commercial offer that includes gastronomic options, supermarkets, convenience stores, appliances, fashion, banking services, recognized brands and an outstanding selection of local brands with a solid track record in the eastern region.

Plaza Mundo Usulután is distinguished by its modern and functional design, which not only incorporates emblematic elements of the region, but also enriches the cultural and social life of the community. With an investment of $52 million, this shopping center offers a unique experience in harmony with nature. The Central Plaza, of 6,000 m², is the heart of the project, housing an impressive amphitheater with capacity for 700 people, ideal for cultural events and shows that will revitalize local life.

Surrounded by local vegetation such as an impressive conacaste, ceibas and eucalyptus trees, the plaza also features a modern set of ornamental fountains, walkable fountains, inclined walls with waterfalls and an artificial lagoon evoking the natural beauty of Laguna de Alegría. A monumental bridge, inspired by the iconic Puente de Oro, connects various areas of the shopping center, symbolizing the union and accessibility that Plaza Mundo promotes.

The varied set of fountains has been created and designed by Lumiartecnia Internacional in conjunction with Agrisal, the company that is promoting the shopping center. The fountains are distributed throughout the central plaza, full of local vegetation and running along a river, which starts with a large cone of water, formed by a LI-8008 nozzle, and descends forming a multitude of waterfalls, pools, pools and other aquatic forms until reaching the lower area where there are two interactive waterwalls that form waterfalls of varied flow and shape according to the various programming of the Controlidor software.

In the central plaza, surrounded by the open-air amphitheater, there is a large walkable fountain made up of 48 LI-F5300 jets arranged in a matrix of 8 rows and 6 columns to form a Aquatic Ballet fountain that will dance and be the center of the stage in the musical performances that liven up the evenings at Plaza Mundo Usulután.

All the installations are controlled from a central computer, with a custom-made Controlidor Master software, located in the control cabin of the shopping center and through an internal connection, it manages the different local control panels distributed throughout the square, thus centralizing the control of all the installations for ease of use by the operators.

All the water from the river and the fountains is filtered and purified from a control room that contains a complex network of pumps, pipes and valves to carry out the cleaning of each water sector in an independent and efficient manner.
